Hydroponic Music was established in 1998 to provide quality underground music to the people of Belfast and beyond.

Still going strong over a decade later, the collective have ripped up the the traditional blueprint of more formulaic music events, crossing genres from Tech House to Roots Reggae, Electro Bass to Digital Dancehall and seminal Soul to early Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Hydroponic events have taken place across countless venues, with guest appearances and ringing endorsements from the likes of Primal Scream, Massive Attack, Ian Brown, Gilles Peterson, Trojan Records, Andrew Weatherall, Shaun Ryder, Hot Chip, Afrika Bambaatta, Death In Vegas, and Howard Marks (to name a few). A dedicated following has rubber stamped Hydroponic Music’s underground kudos, while resident artists continue to lash out bass busting DJ sets and jaw dropping live performances on a regular basis.

Hydroponic DJs have also appeared in cities across the UK and Ireland, including London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Glasgow.
