What the press think about Hydroponic

"Hydroponic is a textbook example of how to run an underground club."

"Residents Michael McKeown & Watsi's way with the decks has ensured a loyal
crowd that will happily venture to the edge of the city on a regular basis"
Andrea McVeigh - The Guardian
The Guardian Guide - No. 1 Club in the UK - Sept 2000

"Hydroponic are consistently up there in my list of top nights.

They're not afraid to do things differently, which is a breath of fresh air in the city.
The crowd are always up for a party, and that suits me down to the ground".

Jonny Tiernan - Alternative Ulster - IPR Magazine Of The Year

"There are only a few clubs in Belfast that still pull me in
simply because the tunes are so bloody good."
"Hydroponic, one of the most consistent and quality club collectives
to ever grace the Belfast scene, is top of this list."

"Hydroponic for me is a hazy recollection of moments of great music, happy punters and a severe lack of bad attitude"

Paul McClean - producer / presenter - BBC Radio Ulster - Across The Line

Over the past five years, Hydroponic has grown in both size and stature. With members of Asian Dub Foundation, Primal Scream, and Death in Vegas almost resident at the club, it's built up a reputation for bringing quality guests to Belfast, but is just as good when local DJs are behind the decks. Add in the hedonistic atmosphere, friendly punters, and its devil-may-care attitude, and you've got a guaranteed good night out!
Donna Legge - Presenter - BBC 2 ATL TV / Radio Ulster - Across The Line

"The cool thing about Hydroponic is that there's always a really nice vibe…but not in a contrived or wanky way. "
"It feels like a dirty big house party that just happens to be in a venue with a bar and a big sound system. "
"Everyone's having fun, and you can tell the DJ's are enjoying it as much as the punters. They have a licence to be experimental and throw a few curve balls."
" There's always a good balance between credibility and just outright fun."

David O'Reilly - Presenter - BBC 2 ATL TV / Radio Ulster - Across The Line

If you're one of the very few people in Belfast who hasn't yet become a Hydroponic addict - get down and see what you're missing."

Kirsten McAlpine - The Big List

"The Bedlam VS Hydroponic nights bring together two of the most popular
underground nights in Belfast."
"Six DJ's square off, mixing, cutting and scratching over four decks, putting
the spotlight on local talent and providing a unique mix of dub, hip hop,
breaks, electro, deep house and techno"

Gavin Bell - Editor - The Big List

"The last Hydroponic night featured a mind blowing set from the Lo Fidelity Allstars,
alongside the Hydroponic residents."

Dub Foundation, backed by the unstoppable rhymes of their live MC's"

Kirsten McAlpine - The Big List

" A brimful of dub and funk"
Joanne McCauley - Belfast Community Telegraph

"Appearing live onstage will be Astromech, without doubt the hottest
live electronic act on the Northern Irish circuit. I've been waiting
to hear them for ages, and it comes as no surprise that it's Hydroponic
who are providing the opportunity."
